On Saturday, July 8, there will be 24 youth from Our Savior and the surrounding community along with five adults, who will be heading to Goldsboro NC and work with their chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
This will make our 11th consecutive year appearance in Goldsboro (thanks to Lisa and Brandon Quanci going last year to keep the streak alive!) and it will also be our largest group. $4,350 was raised toward the HFH $150/participant fee with a memorial in memory of Carol Hammon providing support for ten participants and a donation from another member supporting two more. The Youth Mission Team is so thankful to those who supported the Spaghetti Dinner and Yard Sale fundraisers in May and June respectively.
The theme for this year is “Love Is Greater than Hate” and we will explore the Great Commandment Jesus offers his disciples to love God and love your neighbor. While we do not know what work exactly we will be doing at this time it may range from framing, to siding installation, handicap ramp construction, painting or landscaping. Please keep our group in your prayers as we work in the hot and humid North Carolina heat this July and for safe travels there and back.
