The book of Joshua describes the entry of God’s people Israel into the promised land of Canaan after their time of wander- ing in the wilderness. The book reminded Israel that the promised land was a gift to them from the Lord. Keeping the land depended on the people being faithful to the Lord’s law. How do the historical stories told in the book of Joshua possibly echo our story today in our “promised land” and lives of faith in God?
