The year 2020 has been a challenging one to live through, yet we have…almost. As the days darken, both in the amount of sunlight and in the shadow of a pandemic, we long for a message of hope. In addition to the “Christ In Our Home” quarterly devotional resource that is available regularly, Our Savior has also purchased copies of the Advent devotion, “Hope-Full Living” for parishioners to use for a deeper Advent experience.
These devotions will help us focus on the crib, the cross, and the empty tomb. After all, Advent enables us to celebrate the fact that our daily journey with the Lord always leads us to the living Lord who was born for us, died for us and lives in us each day. That is something to celebrate.
The word Advent means the arrival or a notable person or event. Why not make this Advent a time to introduce others in new and unique ways to the Jesus of Advent, who comes to us new every day through the Word and the Sacraments? He comes and he is here – the signs are all around us!
You can pick up a copy at the church on the table just inside the Wayne Avenue sliding door main entrance. We hope these devotions enable you to use and see the power of the Advent spirit, Christ himself, working in and through us to bring Christmas hope to all!
