Zoom Bible Discussion for Daily Life

What does this mean? That’s the question Martin Luther asks to frame his explanation of the core tenets of the Christian faith such as The Commandments, Creed, Lord’s Prayer, and sacraments in his Small Catechism. It is also the key question we are asking each week in the Bible Discussion for Daily Living that is now being held by Zoom Meeting on Monday nights at 7:30 and Wednesday mornings at 9:30. Each week’s discussion is independent of previous weeks to enable people to join in at any time. A church-wide email was sent out for members to click on the link to join Zoom meeting, or see the newsletter insert for how to join. We hope to see and hear you in May!

Wednesdays at 9:30am. Please contact the church office for access information.

During this time of remaining in our homes and having schedules that may be a bit more flexible I thought I would send out a congregation-wide invitation to be a part of Our Savior’s Wednesday Bible Discussion for Daily Living by Zoom Meeting on the topic of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. Over the next 7 weeks we will discuss the following topics:

  • April 22 & 27: The Ten Commandments
  • April 29 & May 4: The Apostle’s Creed
  • May 6 & 11: The Lord’s Prayer
  • May 13 & 18: the Sacrament of Holy Baptism
  • May 20 & 25: Confession and Forgiveness
  • May 27 & June 1: The Sacrament of the Altar
  • Jun 3 & 8: The Marriage Service and Household Blessings

If you do not have a Small Catechism and would like one we can mail a pocket size edition in the mail, or you can download the app from your App Store. Search “Luther’s Small Catechism” and use the one with a cranberry color background and leaves on a vine icon from the Publishing House ELCA. It’s free!

Then join us for the Zoom discussion on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM. Follow the prompts on your screen to ”Join with Video” and “Join with computer audio.”

We hope to see some new faces in the weeks to come. Blessings in this time of being together while apart.
