Hymn Festival on October 22 to Celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and the 90th Anniversary of LCOS
Don’t miss out on this special, once in a lifetime event at the 8:00 and 10:30 am services. This Hymn Festival will center on the theme of thankfulness and will feature several hymns from the Reformation Era to the present day, such as Now Thank We All Our God, Let All Things Now Living, and several others. Spoken reflections will give thanks for the gifts of Martin Luther and the mothers/fathers of LCOS, consider our role in our faith that’s continually reforming, and pose questions to carry us into the next 500/90 years and beyond. The Festival Choir at the 10:30 am service and instrumentalists at both services will inspire us to give thanks to God through singing.

As a new initiative, Austen Wilson has been writing short weekly reflections on the hymns as they connect to the themes of the day. As you prepare for worship, hopefully they will help you sing the hymns with greater gusto and greater understanding. If you would like to receive these reflections on a weekly basis, contact Austen Wilson. Look out for future information where these devotions will be located on the church website.
