Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
This event is sponsored by the Haddonfield Council of Churches and held on the Monday our nation honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. While it is a scheduled event in LCOS’s confirmation ministry program with middle-school age youth participating, it is not restricted to 7th and 8th graders. Children, youth and adults of all ages are welcome to participate in a day of service in remembrance of the work Dr. King did for civil rights. Participants gather at a Haddonfield church in the morning before fanning out to various outreach agencies in the Camden County area such as Urban Promise Academy, New Visions Day Shelter, and the South Jersey Food Bank to name a few. The group returns by noon for a brief worship service and a soup lunch. Check our Homepage in January for current details.
