9:30 Outdoor Worship Set for June 8 at Challenge Park in Cherry Hill; Church Picnic to Follow
After the success of the outdoor worship and church picnic the last two years the Worship and Music and Fellowship Together ministry teams have planned another one for June 8 at 9:30 this year. There will be no 8:00 worship at the church to provide ample time for the worship team to set up the worship space at the picnic pavilion at Challenge Park.
LCOS 2025 ANNUAL OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE & PICNIC
- When: Sunday, June 8th at 9:30 a.m.
- Where: John Adler Memorial Park at Challenge Grove, Bortons Mill Road and Caldwell Road, Cherry Hill, NJ
There is limited picnic table seating under the pavilion, so participants are encouraged to bring their own lawn seating chairs for worship and the picnic to follow. Hymns will be sung with acoustic accompaniment and Holy Communion will also be provided. Following the worship service there will be a church picnic with a box lunch provided by Bread Board and Mr. Softee for dessert. Lawn games and other activities for young and old will be offered so get your cornhole toss technique back in shape for some good times with fellow parishioners and friends. We look forward to a fun time at Challenge Grove Park with both parishioners, guests, and friends on June 8 so spread the word! Please contact the church office if you plan to attend the picnic so the Fellowship Together team can best plan for meals or sign up for the picnic at the Fellowship Table in the Narthex on Sunday, May 25 or June 1 deadline. An order form can be found on page 10 of this Messenger. The cost is $12 per person or $50 maximum per household.
Mark your calendar for June 8th! Enjoy worship and fellowship outdoors within the Pavilion at Challenge Grove. Consider bringing your comfy outdoor chair, possibly a blanket and your water bottle. There are some picnic tables and chairs at the Grove. Games and crafts will be provided. Join in the games or have fun watching! There will be lots of great conversation, fun and fellowship! Come, join in the fun. Worship, give thanks, enjoy great food as you feel the blessings of fellowship!
Lunch & Desert order deadline June 1st
Lunch will be ordered from Bread Board and will be provided following the worship service. Bring the completed form to church on June 1 (deadline) with your “lunch money.” Jeannette Jelonek and Ruth Fisher will have a table in the narthex to collect your form, payment and give you a TICKET for your lunch and a Mr. Softee treat!
- Mayo and mustard will be on the buffet table.
- Each lunch bag will have a bag of chips, pickle spear and cookie!
- Remember to bring your own beverage. Beverages will not be provided.
- Dessert provided by MR. SOFTEE!
In the event of inclement weather, there will be an email blast and worship will be at the church with the picnic lunch following in the Parish Hall.
