We often hear that the children of the church are the church’s future, but I believe that they are Church right now. So on June 20th, we will be honoring some of our amazing seniors, for Senior Sunday! For starters, Sophia Howard, who is graduating from Cherry Hill East and will be attending Rutgers New Brunswick in the fall, will be preaching at both 8:00 and 10:30 services. Sophia has served on Church Council as the Youth Representative and will be attending ELCA Churchwide Assembly as a Youth Voting member. Our church has never had a youth represented at Churchwide Assembly. We are so proud of her for stepping up into this leadership role and being an amazing mentor to other kids in our church community.
Also on June 20th, at both 8:00 and 10:30 services, some of the other Seniors will be receiving their final step in the Faith Stepping Stones; Stepping into Adulthood. To honor this step, we will be presenting them with their Senior Afghans, which will be embroidered with the Serenity Prayer, along with their Confirmation Verse. The seniors who will be receiving their afghans are Grayson Wright, Luke Riley, Sophia Howard, Daniel Cook, Kate Morris, Emma Warren, Reilly Rhodes, Seba Miller, Riley Needham and Ava Cottone. We are so proud of all of our seniors and their accomplishments! We cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of you! Thank you to all the seniors and their parents for having such a lasting impact on our LCOS Family.
